Effective January 1, 2018, an ANSI Accredited Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certified obtained through a minimum 8 hour course and passing the exam is required, students will not need to apply for the additional Illinois FSSMC (State) Certificate. The City of Chicago will still maintain their certification. As a food service operator in the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago you must have a Certified Manager or Supervisor on the premises “at all-time food is being handled”. If a Certified Manager is not present, your operation will be ticketed. Our approved sanitation classes are given weekly with the examinations.
